Can a single capital markets union help European competitiveness?
Seeking Alpha News (Thu, 18-Apr 7:11 AM ET)
The SPDR Portfolio Europe ETF seeks to provide investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the total return performance of the STOXX Europe Total Market Index (the "Index"). The STOXX Europe Total Market Index is a free-float market capitalization weighted index designed to provide a broad representation of publicly traded Western European companies. The Index represents approximately the top 95% of the free-float market capitalization of each of the following European countries: Austria, Belgium, Poland, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The STOXX Europe Total Market Index reflects linked performance returns of both the STOXX Europe Total Market Index and the STOXX Europe 50 Index. The index returns are reflective of the STOXX Europe 50 Index from fund inception until 09/23/2019 and of the STOXX Europe Total Market Index effective 09/23/2019.

SPEU stock has underperformed the market in the last year with a return of +5.9%, while SPY returned +21.2%. This shows that you would have done better investing in the overall market (through SPY) over the last year than in SPEU shares. However, SPEU has outperformed the market in the last 3 month and 2 week periods, returning +4.1% and -3.1%, while SPY returned +3.0% and -4.5%, respectively. This indicates SPEU has been having a stronger performance recently.
SPEU support price is $40.05 and resistance is $40.75 (based on 1 day standard deviation move). This means that using the most recent 20 day stock volatility and applying a one standard deviation move around the stock's closing price, stastically there is a 67% probability that SPEU stock will trade within this expected range on the day.
