The Fund seeks to provide interest income while conserving capital by investing primarily in fixed-rate US investment-grade corporate bonds with flexibility to incorporate up to 20% in non-investment-grade and non-US dollar-denominated securities, as well as foreign sovereign and corporate securities (both developed and emerging markets). The fund also may invest in government securities, asset-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities and residential mortgage-backed securities. The Fund may also invest in derivatives and other instruments that have similar economic characteristics to other securities.
