Revenue cycle management tool move to Microsoft Cloud is expected to lead to up to 10 percent reduction in infrastructure costs
Centricity Business is first system of its scope and kind to make the shift to cloud
New visual analytics solution offers custom dashboards, holistic and collaborative views
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- At the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual conference, GE Healthcare announced a new visual analytics solution built on Microsoft Power BI. GE also confirmed that its Centricity Business revenue cycle management and ShiftSelect workforce management workflow systems would shift to the Microsoft Cloud to assist healthcare providers in their transition from volume- to value-based care.
These announcements build on GE Healthcare and Microsofts more than 10-year relationship and demonstrate their continued commitment to improving healthcare outcomes through next generation digital solutions. The companies are also working together to bring GEs Predix platform for the Industrial Internet to Microsofts global cloud footprint, enabling customers to capture intelligence from their industrial assets.
To speed their transition to value-based care, healthcare providers need actionable insights from disparate data sources in their workflows in a single location, said Jonathan Zimmerman, Vice President and General Manager of Value Based Care Solutions, GE Healthcare. With the help of committed and likeminded partners, like Microsoft, we are deploying digital tools that help clinicians and administrators make the most informed decisions possible quickly and at lower cost.
To help providers collect more revenue faster, for less cost, GE Healthcare is moving its Centricity Business solution from on-premises to the cloud with Microsoft. This marks the first system of this scope and kind to make the shift to cloud, and GE Healthcare estimates the move could account for an up to 10 percent reduction in costs related to infrastructure. It is anticipated that providers using this solution will also experience significant improvements in productivity through a decrease in time spent on hardware maintenance, higher scalability, faster upgrade functionality and stronger security.
Cloud and advanced analytics are helping health organizations around the world streamline operations and deliver better outcomes for patients, said Neil Jordan, General Manager, Worldwide Health at Microsoft. Innovative GE Healthcare solutions powered by the Microsoft Cloud will help accelerate the transformation of health organizations, underscored by Microsofts investments in cloud security and regulatory compliance.
Centricity Business helps providers deliver a holistic, patient-friendly approach to managing billing inquiries by providing a single patient financial picture and statement. The tool also helps users optimize critical outcomes such as cost to collect, first pass denials, and aged accounts receivable.
Providers can now produce dashboards in days, not months
Caradigm, a GE Healthcare company offering intelligent analytics and population health solutions, has developed Visual Analytics, which is built on Power BI. The new tool aims to help healthcare administrators and clinicians better manage, analyze and draw actionable insights from massive amounts of clinical, claim, lab and social determinant data filed from across their organizations and outside third parties. Caradigm Visual Analytics allows users to develop both templated and customized dashboards, reports, charts and graphs to review What if? scenarios and their potential impacts on outcomes, such as gainsharing. While it could sometimes take healthcare providers months to build and deploy such reports and dashboards in the past, this new solution does it in days.
For healthcare organizations to succeed in population health and best care for patients in their communities, they demand better information, said Neal Singh, President and CEO, Caradigm a GE Healthcare company. With the addition of Caradigm Visual Analytics, providers can develop the specific dashboards, reports, charts and graphs needed to drive smart decisions and actions that lead to improved clinical outcomes and financial results.
Further to its mission of improving outcomes for healthcare providers, GE Healthcare announced the move of its Centricity ShiftSelect workforce management tool to the Microsoft Cloud. This solution uses a collaborative staffing approach to help managers effectively fill unit schedules and optimize staff, resulting in a decrease in premium labor costs and an increase to employee satisfaction. The tools move to the cloud will improve scalability and help connect providers to increased security measures.
