Tile Announces Partnership with Comcast

PHILADELPHIA and SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tile, the leading smart location provider, today announced a product and marketing partnership with Comcast that will dramatically broaden the reach of Tile's cloud-based finding platform through Comcast's broadband and video devices in the home.
Today, Tile's network is powered by its millions-strong community of users who collectively find over 4 million Tiles every day. Through integrations with Comcast access points like wireless gateways, Tile has the potential to grow its reach into tens of millions of households.
As part of this expanded partnership, Tile announced that Comcast has made a strategic investment in Tile. Working collaboratively, the companies will further establish smart home solutions for their customers and continue to make home automation simple and easy for millions of customers.
The new partnership will include Tile technology integrations with Comcast's xFi Advanced Gateway, which is capable of supporting Gigabit speeds over Wi-Fi, was purpose built to power next-generation connected homes and a growing ecosystem of Internet of Things devices, and comes equipped with dedicated radios for the most popular wireless protocols including Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Thread.
Earlier this year, Comcast partnered with Tile to enable Xfinity customers to use their Xfinity X1 Voice Remote to locate Tile devices and see the results of their search on their television. The companies expect to share further announcements this year detailing how this technology will roll out and benefit mutual customers.
