Bruker Features Microcomputed Tomography (micro-CT) for Studying Root Canals in Educational Webinar

PRWeb 1-Nov-2018 10:02 AM

In this webinar, which LabRoots will host November 15 in two sessions, attendees will learn about applications of micro-CT technology in endodontics and how this high resolution, non-invasive and non-destructive imaging technique can be applied to study the root canal system.

YORBA LINDA, Calif. (PRWEB) November 01, 2018

Endodontics is a specialty within the field of dentistry concerned with the morphology, physiology and pathology of the human dental pulp and periradicular tissues. Recent technological advancements have led to several new methods for visualizing the anatomy of the human teeth, but, over the last decade, non-destructive, high-resolution micro-CT 3D imaging has become the most important tool for such applications.

Although technological advances in the 20th century have led to a range of techniques for visualizing the human tooth, most require destruction of the samples studied and they also only allow 2D imaging of a 3D structure.

In this webinar, Dr. Marco Versiani, Researcher in Dentistry, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil will discuss the current and potential applications of micro-CT in the analysis of root canal morphology as well as describe opening, cleaning and shaping procedures and obturation and retreatment protocols. Bruker's micro-CT systems such as the SkyScan 1174 will also be discussed for analyzing various 2D and 3D parameters in dental research.

LabRoots will host this webinar on November 15, 2018, beginning at 10am CET, 5pm CST and again at 11am EST, 5pm CET. To learn more about this event, the continuing education credits offered, or to register for free, click here for the first session; and click here for the second session.
