Atmos Energy Corporation Names Kevin Akers as Executive Vice President

The Board of Directors of Atmos Energy Corporation (NYSE:ATO) promoted Kevin Akers (previously the company's Senior Vice President, Safety and Enterprise Services) to the position of Executive Vice President, effective immediately. Kevin will remain a member of the management committee and continue to report to Mike Haefner, President and CEO. In addition to his previous responsibilities, including Pipeline Safety, Customer Service, Supply Chain Management, Facilities and Business Process & Change Management, he will now assume additional responsibilities over the company's pipeline and storage operations, with Dennis Gordon, President of Atmos Pipeline – Texas, reporting to him.

"Kevin is a proven leader with broad company and industry experience. This new role will expand Kevin's involvement in the development and execution of the company's operating and financial strategies," said Haefner.

Kevin joined Atmos Energy in 1991 and served in several leadership roles in Kentucky before serving as President of the company's Mississippi Division and later President of the Kentucky/Mid-States Division. He was named Senior Vice President of Safety and Enterprise Services in November 2016.

Kevin holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Alabama.
