Three ABF Freight Drivers Named To America's Road Team

FORT SMITH, Ark., Feb. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- ArcBest® (NASDAQ:ARCB), a leading logistics company with creative problem solvers who deliver integrated solutions, is pleased to recognize three ABF Freight® drivers who have been chosen as captains of the 2019-2020 America's Road Team.

Sammy Brewster of Georgia, Scott Davis of Missouri and Todd Wilemon of Mississippi join an elite group of 18 captains who represent the trucking industry and promote highway safety.

Brewster has been a professional driver for 29 years, the last 12 with ABF Freight. He has driven over 400,000 accident-free miles. Davis has been a professional driver for 43 years, the last 18 with ABF Freight. He has driven over 4.4 million accident-free miles. Wilemon has been a professional driver for 35 years, the last 26 with ABF Freight. He has driven over 2.75 million accident-free miles. All three drivers are also members of the 2018-19 ABF Freight Road Team.

A panel of industry officials and trucking news media judged 33 finalists on their ability to express their knowledge of the industry, their skills in effective communication about safety and transportation, and their overall safe driving record. The 18 captains were announced Jan. 29.

"These drivers represent the diverse experiences of the 3.5 million professional drivers across the country and will be able to bring their unique stories to new, critical audiences as part of America's Road Team," said Chris Spear, president and CEO of the American Trucking Associations.

The America's Road Team, created in 1986 by the American Trucking Associations, is a national public outreach program led by a small group of professional truck drivers who share superior driving skills, remarkable safety records and a strong desire to spread the word about safety on the highway. America's Road Team captains are frequently called upon to participate in safety events, speaking appearances and industry conferences.
