Chicago Equity Partners Hires Emerging Markets Equity Portfolio Manager

Chicago Equity Partners, LLC, is pleased to announce the hiring of emerging markets equity portfolio manager, Venkat Eleswarapu, Ph.D.

Dr. Eleswarapu joins the firm as a Managing Director and brings his emerging markets equity strategy (formerly "Valant Emerging Markets Equity") from Trilogy Global Advisors, a fellow AMG Affiliate. He will continue to manage the strategy as he has since its 2013 inception, with the added resources of Chicago Equity Partners' research team. Dr. Eleswarapu's quantitative investment approach aligns well with Chicago Equity Partners, where systematic models are used to capture market inefficiencies and control risks. The firm offers comprehensive quantitative research resources that will complement and further enhance the established framework of Dr. Eleswarapu's emerging markets equity strategy. Dr. Eleswarapu has a well-rounded background, bringing years of academic, sell-side and portfolio management experience to the firm. He grew up in India and came to the U.S. for graduate school, earning his Ph.D. in finance. He taught finance for more than a decade before entering the investment industry as a Senior Quantitative Analyst at Oppenheimer Funds. Later, at Macquarie Securities, he was Head of North American Quantitative Research. Dr. Eleswarapu then joined Trilogy Global Advisors as a Portfolio Manager, where he built what is now the Chicago Equity Partners Emerging Markets Equity strategy. He has lived and worked around the world and brings a global perspective to his approach.
