Finisar Introduces Portable Optical Spectrum Analyzer for Optical Communications Applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Finisar (NASDAQ:FNSR) today introduced its WaveAnalyzer™ 200A Portable Optical Spectrum Analyzer. This compact battery-operated instrument with touch screen display is designed for spectral measurements in advanced optical communication systems in the R&D laboratory as well as installation, maintenance and troubleshooting applications in networks and data centers. This device represents the latest advancements in test and measurement technology offered by Finisar. 

The new WaveAnalyzer 200A is based on heterodyne measurement technology and provides a scan time of less than a second across the entire C-band of optical communications with a resolution bandwidth of 1.8 GHz. It is operated using a Graphical User Interface on a large touch screen and provides functions like Optical Signal to Noise Ratio (OSNR) measurement and WDM analysis. The WaveAnalyzer 200A can be remotely accessed and controlled through an Ethernet interface with full programming for integration into automated test systems. The device offers market-leading performance with attractive pricing and can be ordered immediately.  

The WaveAnalyzer 200A, together with the WaveShaper® Series A family and the WaveAnalyzer 1500S High Resolution Optical Spectrum Analyzer will be demonstrated in Finisar's booth #3713 at OFC 2019 in San Diego, March 5 to 7.
