The Fund’s primary investment objective is total return. High current income is a secondary investment objective. The Fund invests primarily in U.S. dollar and non-U.S. dollar denominated debt securities of issuers in emerging market countries. In selecting investments for the Fund, management uses a combination of qualitative assessments and quantitative models that seek to measure the relative risks and opportunities of each market segment based on economic, market, political, currency and technical data.
