CooperVision Announces Best Practices for 2024
Carol Rennolds- April 25, 2024
CooperVision recognizes top eye care professionals in its 2024 Best Practices℠ Program!
Cooper Companies Inc. (and more specifically, its subsidiary, CooperVision) is one of the world’s largest soft contact lens manufacturers in the world.
Each year, a selection committee made up of professional peers and industry experts chooses a small number of optometry practices that are honored as CooperVision’s “Best Practices” for that year. To be eligible, the practice only needs to offer contact lens fittings- leaving a large number of eligible practices.
According to their website, winners of CooperVision’s Best Practices “join a family of influential eye health leaders dedicated to improving the patient experience and contributing to the success of each other’s professional development and practice growth.”
More than an Optometry Practice
This year, there were ten honorees chosen throughout the country, including a practice just one-year-old, Stone Oak Vision Source.
The San Antonio, Texas-based practice is honored to be among the top ten practices around the country recognized by CooperVision for their innovation, patient care, and community engagement. While Stone Oak Vision Source offers its patients a wide range of services (including comprehensive eye exams, dry eye, and even facial aesthetics), it is its Myopia Control services that set it apart.
Nearsightedness, known as myopia, makes it difficult to see objects from afar. Early intervention for children with vision deficits is critical to aid in their academic as well as social/emotional development. If your child is experiencing nearsightedness, corrective lenses such as glasses or contact lenses may be prescribed.
Early prevention is key to success in Myopia Management.
Chandler Mann, OD, the practice owner, built his myopia management practice from the ground up, working to build a referral network within his community by reaching out to local pediatricians. Dr. Mann now has more than 45 children enrolled in his practice’s myopia management program, and that number continues to grow each week. Speaking regularly with elementary school nurses and working alongside pediatricians in the area, Dr. Mann has found his passion in advocating for early intervention and implementing myopia management treatments for children.
Dr. Chandler Mann believes that offering cutting-edge technology sets the practice apart from a typical optometry practice. He has invested in one of the most advanced Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments on the market, Forma-I for dry eye treatment, and even a minimally invasive bipolar radiofrequency (RF) tissue treatment.
A Texan from Birth, Dr. Mann is proud to serve his home state community.
