What is this indicator?

The Empire State Manufacturing Index is a monthly survey conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to gauge the overall health of the manufacturing sector in the state of New York. The Prices Received component of the index measures changes in the prices received by manufacturers for their goods and services. Specifically, it asks survey respondents whether the prices they received for their products over the previous month were higher, lower, or unchanged from the prices they received the month before.
