AppLovin is a bidder for TikTok - CNBC
Seeking Alpha News (Wed, 02-Apr 1:50 PM)
AppLovin (NASDAQ:APP) Corp. is a bidder for TikTok, according to a CNBC report.
AppLovin (NASDAQ:APP) is in talks with the Trump administration over a bid for TikTok, according to CNBC's David Faber, who cited people familiar with the matter. AppLovin would not have the ability to host the servers, unlike some of the other bidders.
"At the very least, the Trump administration is fully aware of their interest in also being a potential acquirer of TikTok," Faber said on the business network.
The latest update comes after reports earlier Wednesday that Amazon (AMZN) made a last minute bid for TikTok.
Companies interested in buying or taking a stake in TikTok also include Oracle (ORCL), Rumble (RUM), and Perplexity AI. Former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is also leading an investor group with plans to acquire TikTok. Meanwhile, Kevin O'Leary and Frank McCourt are in the mix. O'Leary, known from Shark Tank, and McCourt, a billionaire real estate tycoon, have joined forces under "The People's Bid for TikTok."
Shares of AppLovin (APP) rose 2.8% on Wednesday.
