BOC Aviation orders 120 Boeing and Airbus aircraft
Seeking Alpha News (Mon, 31-Mar 1:34 AM)
Singapore-based BOC Aviation announced plans to buy 120 single-aisle aircraft from Boeing (NYSE:BA) and Airbus (OTCPK:EADSY). The order includes 70 Airbus A320NEO family jets and 50 Boeing 737-8 jets.
This acquisition is part of the airlines plan to expand its fleet to 1,000 aircraft by 2030, up from the 709 it owned at the end of 2024. Deliveries are scheduled through 2031 for Boeing (NYSE:BA) and 2032 for Airbus (OTCPK:EADSY).
"With this transaction, we have commitments to purchase over 140 of these (Boeing 737-8) aircraft, which is the largest Boeing orderbook position in our history," BOC Aviation CEO Steven Townend said.
This deal highlights the growing demand for narrowbody aircraft amid a surge in global travel. However, challenges such as supply chain issues and production delays may affect delivery timelines.
