As the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) plunges 1,500 points, and is currently about -4.4% year-to-date, we look at the stocks holding up in the index.

CNBC first used the term “Teflon market” to refer to a market that appears to be unaffected by negative news or events, as if not sticking to a Teflon pan.

UnitedHealth Group (UNH) – Up 2.43%

Procter & Gamble (PG) – Up 1.85%

McDonald’s (MCD) – Up 1.65%

Merck & Co. (MRK) – Up 1.51%
