Monday - March 31

  • Volatility watch - Quantum Computing (QUBT) and Sunnova Energy International (NOVA) have a high level of implied volatility based on options trading. Newton Golf Company (NWTG) and Recursion Pharmaceuticals (RXRX) have an elevated level of short interest outstanding on them heading into the new week. The most overbought stocks per their 14-day relative strength index include Golden Heaven Group (GDHG), ProAssurance (PRA), and HF Foods (HFFG). The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include FrontView REIT (FVR) and Xerox (XRX).
  • IPO watch - Media player Newsmax (NMAX), luxury watch seller Top Win International (TOPW), and Self Storage REIT (SMA) are expected to start trading during the week. The quiet periods expire on Kestra Medical (KMTS) and Skycorp Solar GRoup (PN).
  • Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include PVH (PVH) and Progress Software (PRGS).
  • All day - The Optical Fiber Communication Conference in San Francisco takes place. The four-day event is seen by analysts as being relevant to Broadcom (AVGO), Marvell Technology (MRVL), Coherent (COHR), Credo Technology (CRDO), and Lumentum (LITE).
  • All day - Intel (INTC) will hold its two-day Intel Vision event. The conference will showcase how Intel technologies are being used to enable new solutions and drive business success in the AI era. CEO Lip-Bu Tan will deliver an opening keynote.

 

Tuesday - April 1

  • Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include Sportsman's Warehouse (SPWH).
  • All day - Key data reports due to arrive during the first few days of the week include updates on deliveries from Tesla (TSLA), Nio (NIO), XPeng (XPEV), Rivian Automotive (RIVN), Li Auto (LI), ZEEKR Intelligent (ZK), Polestar Automotive (PSNY), and Lucid Group (LCID). Quarterly sales reports from General Motors (GM), Ford Motor (F), and Toyota (TM) will also be closely watched. Other reports of high interest to investors will be the monthly Macau gross gaming revenue release, the monthly update on Class 8 truck orders, firearm background check data from the FBI, and discount broker DARTs reports.
  • All day - Sportradar (SRAD) will host an Investor Day event. Top management will present the business strategy, growth drivers, and financial outlook.
  • All day - Bloomberg will publish its OPEC production survey for March.
  • All day - Shareholders with Patterson Companies (PDCO) will vote on the takeover offer from Patient Square Capital, L.P. 

 

Wednesday - April 2

  • Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include RH (RH) and UniFirst (UNF). Options trading implies a double-digit share price swing for Blackberry (BB) after it reports.
  • All day - Details of the U.S. reciprocal tariffs will be announced.
  • All day - Nintendo (OTCPK:NTDOY) is holding a reveal event for the Nintendo Switch 2. A launch of the next-generation console is expected as early as June.
  • All day - Fluor (FLR) will hold a strategy update webcast to discuss the company's strategic plan followed by a live question and answer session.
  • All day - Yext (YEXT) will host an Investor Day event. Management will present the company’s vision, strategy, and financial objectives, followed by a live Q&A.
  • All day - Marex (MRX) will hold an Investor Day event. The event will feature presentations from the company's business heads, providing a comprehensive review of operations and growth initiatives.
  • All day - Shareholders with Nevro (NVRO) will vote on the takeover offer from Globus Medical (GMED). 
  • 12:00 p.m. The National Retail Federation will hold a State of Retail & the Consumer 2025 event. BJ's Wholesale Club (BJ) CEO Bob Eddy, Walmart (WMT) U.S. President John Furner, and Tapestry (TPR) CEO Joanne Crevoiserat will be some of the notable speakers.
  • 4:30 p.m. Federal Reserve Board Governor Adriana Kugler will speak virtually on "Inflation Expectations and Monetary Policymaking."

 

Thursday - April 3

  • Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include Conagra Brands (CAG) and Lamb Weston (LW).
  • All day - The U.S. will start collecting duties on imported vehicles and auto parts. The tariff applies to all imported cars and light trucks not manufactured in the United States, as well as foreign-made auto components.
  • All day - Burford Capital Limited (BUR) will host an Investor Day event to provide a comprehensive strategic update on the business.
  • All day - A meeting of NATO foreign ministers could have implications for the defense sector, particularly European defense companies.
  • 2:30 p.m. Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook will speak on the economic outlook before the University of Pittsburgh 2025 McKay Lecture event.

 

Friday - April 4

  • All day - Warner Bros.' (WBD) Minecraft movie will premiere in the U.S. The movie is forecast to bring in between $55M to $75M during its opening weekend and see a total global haul of over $1 billion. McDonald's (MCD) is looking to cash in on the buzz with various menu promotions tied to the movie.
  • All day - Microsoft (MSFT) will hold a special media event at its headquarters in Redmond to celebrate its 50th anniversary. New consumer AI and Copilot announcements are expected.
  • 8:30 a.m. The March U.S. Jobs Report will be released. Economists expect job additions to fall to 135K from 151K in February and the unemployment rate to stay level at 4.1%.
  • 9:00 a.m. DigitalOcean Holdings (DOCN) will host an Investor Day event in New York City. Presentations will be given by the management team.
  • 11:25 a.m. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will speak at the SABEW conference in Arlington, Virginia.
  • 12:00 p.m. Federal Reserve Board Governor Michael Barr will speak on "Artificial Intelligence and Banking" before the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
  • 12:45 p.m. Federal Reserve Board Governor Christopher Waller will participate in a payments discussion before the 2025 New York Fed Innovation Conference.
