The First Trust Bloomberg R&D Leaders ETF (the "Fund") seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield (before the Fund's fees and expenses) of an index called the Bloomberg R&D Leaders Select Index (the "Index"). Under normal market conditions, the Fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in the securities that comprise the Index. The Fund, using an indexing investment approach, attempts to replicate, before fees and expenses, the performance of the Index, which includes dividends paid by the securities in the Index. The Bloomberg R&D Leaders Select Index provides exposure to companies that seek to return implicit value to shareholders by reinvesting in their own growth. The index begins with a universe of all the securities comprising the Bloomberg US 1000 Index (the "Parent Index"). The top 50 securities are selected by issuer free float market capitalization and weighted accordingly. |
