Tower Semiconductor Sees Premarket Price Drop Amid Financial Results

In the premarket trading session, Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (TSEM) has experienced a price drop of $0.64, translating to a decrease of 1.3%. The current premarket price stands at $48.00, with a trading volume of 48,224 shares.

This decline comes on the heels of the company's recent announcement regarding its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2024. Despite reporting a revenue increase to $387 million for the fourth quarter, up from $371 million in the previous quarter and $352 million year-over-year, investors appear to be reacting cautiously.

The company's gross profit for the fourth quarter was reported at $87 million, a slight increase from $84 million in the same quarter last year. However, Tower Semiconductor has also indicated that it has taken on incremental costs associated with its new Agrate facility, which may be contributing to investor concerns.

Looking at the full year, Tower Semiconductor reported revenues of $1.44 billion, a modest increase from $1.42 billion in 2023. The net profit for 2024 was $208 million, significantly lower than the $518 million reported for 2023, which included a one-time gain from the Intel merger contract termination.

Russell Ellwanger, the CEO of Tower Semiconductor, expressed optimism about the company's future, stating, "With the close of 2024, we are pleased with our progress, in having brought to market highly differentiated end application advancing platforms, hence strengthening our position for sustainable growth." He further noted that the company is targeting year-over-year revenue growth in 2025.

Despite the positive outlook, the market's reaction suggests that investors are weighing the company's operational challenges against its growth potential. As Tower Semiconductor navigates these complexities, all eyes will be on how it manages costs and drives revenue in the upcoming quarters.
