The State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust seeks to achieve its investment objective by holding a portfolio of the common stocks that are included in the S&P 500 Index (the "Portfolio"), with the weight of each stock in the Portfolio substantially corresponding to the weight of such stock in the Index. The S&P 500 Index is a diversified large cap U.S. index that holds companies across all eleven GICS sectors. The Index is designed to measure the performance of the large-cap segment of the US equity market. It is float-adjusted market capitalization weighted.
